Senior SQL Server DBA / Data DB Engineer - Legacy Stabilization

We are looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA / Data DB Engineer with deep experience in stabilizing, cleaning, and optimizing legacy databases. This role begins with a strong focus on SQL Server and improving existing systems, then evolves toward data modeling to support a new data layer and new developments. The person in this role will work very closely with the Senior Python API Data Engineer and with Attom's technical leaders to understand current systems, reduce risks, and define the changes needed for modernization to move forward successfully. ✅ Required Qualifications: Solid experience administering, diagnosing, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server Strong command of SQL and ability to understand poorly documented legacy databases Experience with row-based and column-based indexes in SQL Server Ability to stabilize, clean, and improve existing databases Practical knowledge of Python and Bash / shell scripting Experience working in disorganized environments with complex data and unclear ownership Ability to explain database constraints, risks, and recommendations to other engineers Effective use of AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, and development Advanced English (C1 or higher) 💡 Nice to Have / Plus: Experience with Airflow Experience in query optimization, schema cleanup, stored procedures, or ETL Experience with migrations, reporting tables, permissions, reliability, or backups Experience collaborating directly with data engineers or backend engineers Experience in legacy system modernization
